Cookies and visitor statistics
Which cookies and local storage Cultured Eye uses, why, and how to change your choice. Visitor statistics with Google Analytics are used only if you have accepted them.
You decide whether we may count your visit. Changing or withdrawing your consent is as easy as giving it, and you can do so at any time. If you withdraw, the statistics cookies are removed and the page reloads, so that Google’s script no longer runs.
What is necessary or functional requires no consent and never leaves your browser. The statistics cookies are set only if you accept.
We want to know which pages are read and how many people visit them, so that we can improve the content: which periods, artists, buildings and objects interest people, which pages are hard to find and which languages are used. We see only totals.
The statistics are not used for advertising or for building profiles of you. Google signals (the link to Google accounts) and ad personalisation are switched off.
Google’s script (gtag.js from googletagmanager.com) is fetched only after you have pressed Accept. Until then Google is not contacted for statistics and no statistics cookies are set. If you decline, the script is never fetched.
We use Google’s Consent Mode v2. When the script loads, everything is denied at first, and then only the statistics are allowed. Ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation remain denied.
The app itself sends a page view when you open a page or move to another page. Nothing else about what you do in the app is sent.
Each page view sends the page’s address and title, the page you came from, the language, approximate location (country and city), browser and operating system, screen size and the random ID stored in the _ga cookie.
Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. Your IP address is used only to determine the approximate location and is not stored.
The statistics are based on your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Chapter 9, Section 28 of the Swedish Electronic Communications Act. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
The recipient is Google Ireland Limited, which processes the data on our behalf. The data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and the transfer is also covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
The statistics are kept in Google Analytics for 14 months and then deleted. The cookies remain in your browser for at most two years unless you remove them sooner; if you withdraw your consent, we remove them straight away. Your choice is kept for twelve months, after which we ask again.
You have the right to know which personal data is processed about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict the processing and to object to it. The statistics are linked only to a random ID in your browser, so we generally cannot connect them to you as a person. The simplest way to get rid of them is to withdraw your consent above, which removes the cookies.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before. If you have questions, write to us (see below). You always have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Sweden, IMY, imy.se).
