Acne Studios

Stockholm company that began with about a hundred pairs of jeans with red stitching and became an international fashion house.

Acne was founded in Stockholm as a creative collective working in advertising, film and design. The jeans became a business of their own, and the brand took the name Acne Studios when fashion became the main concern.

The brand became known for a pared-back, often playful Scandinavian style and for collaborations with artists and architects. It shows its collections in Paris and has shops on several continents.

Early garments carry the label Acne Jeans.
