Bernardaud

Porcelain factory in Limoges, one of the great French makers of fine tableware.

Limoges became the centre of French porcelain after kaolin was found in the area in the 18th century. The factory that became Bernardaud started in the 19th century and took its name from Léon Bernardaud, who took over at the beginning of the 20th century.

Bernardaud has made porcelain for hotels, restaurants and state visits and has worked with artists and designers. The firm is still owned by the family.
