Bing & Grøndahl

Danish porcelain factory in Copenhagen, known for Christmas plates from 1895, figures and the Seagull pattern. Merged with Royal Copenhagen.

The porcelain factory was founded by the brothers Meyer Herman and Jacob Herman Bing with the modeller Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl. It soon became a rival to the Royal Porcelain Factory.

Fanny Garde's Seagull service (Mågestellet) of 1895 became one of the most widespread dinner services in Denmark. The Christmas plates, which began in 1895, were the first of their kind and became collectors' items. The factory merged with Royal Copenhagen in 1987.
