Boda
Glassworks in Småland that in the 1960s and 70s became known for Erik Höglund’s rough, bubbly glass and Bertil Vallien’s art glass. Merged with Kosta to form Kosta Boda.
The Boda glassworks was founded in Småland by workers from Kosta and long made everyday glass. Erik Höglund came to the works in 1953 and renewed it completely with thick, bubbly glass with stamped figures.
Bertil Vallien and Ulrica Hydman-Vallien continued in the same free spirit from the 1960s. Boda, Kosta and Åfors were joined as Kosta Boda, and the Boda name lives on in the joint firm.
Engraved signature Boda or the artist’s name and number.
