Boucheron
Jeweller that in 1893 became the first of the great houses to open on the Place Vendôme in Paris; known for naturalistic jewels and animal motifs.
Frédéric Boucheron opened his first shop in the Palais-Royal in Paris and in 1893 moved to the Place Vendôme, which later became the jewellers' square. He was known for daring to combine precious stones with less usual materials.
The firm received commissions from royal houses and from wealthy clients in Russia and Persia. Nature was a recurring theme, and the Quatre collection with its grooved rings became a modern classic. Boucheron has been part of Kering since 2000.
The signature Boucheron Paris and a number.
