Chopard
Founded as a watch factory in the Jura; from 1976 known for Happy Diamonds, with loose diamonds moving freely between two crystals.
Louis-Ulysse Chopard set up his workshop in Sonvilier in the Jura and made pocket watches and precision watches. In 1963 the family sold to the goldsmith Karl Scheufele, whose family has run the company since.
Happy Diamonds of 1976 was a new idea: diamonds moving freely between the dial and the glass. Chopard is also known for jewellery and for having made the Palme d'Or for the Cannes Film Festival since 1998.
The signature Chopard and serial number; standards stamped in.
