Cole & Son

London firm with a large archive of hand-printing blocks, including Pugin’s designs for the Houses of Parliament.

John Perry began printing wallpapers with wood blocks in London, and the firm later became Cole & Son. It took over blocks and patterns from other printers, and its archive holds thousands of printing blocks.

Among the patterns are Augustus Pugin's wallpapers for the Palace of Westminster. The firm has also worked with contemporary designers and artists.
