Colnago

Ernesto Colnago’s workshop in Cambiago; frames for Merckx and later a pioneer of carbon fibre, among other things with Ferrari.

Ernesto Colnago opened a bicycle workshop in Cambiago near Milan and built frames for racing cyclists. He worked as a mechanic for major teams.

Eddy Merckx set the hour record in 1972 on a Colnago, and the C40 of 1994 was an early carbon-fibre frame that won many classics. The clover, Colnago's symbol, sits on the frames.

The clover in the emblem and the crimped tubes of the Master model.
