De Sede

Swiss maker of leather furniture, known for the organic DS-600 Non-Stop sofa.

The saddler Ernst Lüthy had a workshop in Klingnau in the canton of Aargau, and the firm changed its name to De Sede when it turned to modern leather furniture in the 1960s. Thick cowhide and visible stitching became the brand's hallmarks.

The DS-600 of 1972, designed by a group of designers, consists of sections joined by zips and can be as long as you like. De Sede works with designers and still makes its furniture in Klingnau.

Thick leather, often with hand-sewn, visible stitching.

Marked De Sede with the model designation DS followed by a number.
