The factory started in the village of Ercuis in the Oise department and made cutlery and objects in silver and plated metal. It became one of France's great makers of table silver, with many classic patterns.

Ercuis has made cutlery for hotels, restaurants and diplomacy and worked with Art Deco designers. The firm now belongs to the same group as the Raynaud porcelain factory in Limoges.
