F. P. Journe
François-Paul Journe's watchmaking house in Geneva, where he designs the movements himself and has them made in his own workshops.
François-Paul Journe trained in Paris and built his own movements early, among them a pocket watch with a tourbillon. He moved to Geneva and worked for other brands before founding his own company in 1999.
The first watches, the Tourbillon Souverain and the Chronomètre à Résonance, in which two balances swing in step, made the brand known among collectors. Since 2004 the movements have been made in rose gold, and the dials have a distinctive, easily recognised style.
The motto Invenit et Fecit on the dial or movement, and rose-gold movements on later watches.
