Gracie

New York firm for hand-painted wallpapers in the Chinese and Japanese style.

Charles R. Gracie began importing Chinese and Japanese works of art and wallpapers to New York. The firm has since had wallpapers painted by hand in an Asian style, often to order.

The papers are painted in studios in Asia to the firm's designs and to the room's measurements. The Gracie family has run the firm for generations.

Hand-painted trees, birds and landscapes, often on silk or metallic paper.

Panels numbered to be hung in a particular order in the room.
