Hasbro

Founded by the Hassenfeld brothers in Rhode Island; Mr. Potato Head (1952) and G.I. Joe (1964).

The brothers Henry, Hillel and Herman Hassenfeld started a company dealing in textile remnants in Providence and moved into school supplies and toys. Mr. Potato Head of 1952 was the first toy advertised on television.

G.I. Joe of 1964 popularised the term action figure. Hasbro later bought Milton Bradley and Parker Brothers and owns board games such as Monopoly.

Hasbro and the copyright year moulded into the plastic.
