Heath Ceramics
Ceramics factory in Sausalito, California, founded by Edith Heath, known for stoneware with matt glazes.
Edith Heath was a potter and began selling her stoneware in San Francisco. With her husband Brian Heath she started a factory in Sausalito, where the Coupe line of 1948 became the basis of the business.
Edith Heath developed the glazes herself, and the factory also made tiles for buildings. The company was bought in 2003 by Robin Petravic and Catherine Bailey, who have renewed it.
Matt, earthy glazes and a clear line where the glaze stops.
An impressed or printed Heath mark under the piece.
