Hoefler&Co.
Jonathan Hoefler’s type foundry in New York, known for Gotham (2000) and Hoefler Text.
Jonathan Hoefler started his type foundry in New York and drew typefaces for magazines, among them Hoefler Text, which Apple included in its operating system. Tobias Frere-Jones was a partner for a time, and the firm was then called Hoefler & Frere-Jones.
Gotham of 2000 was based on lettering on signs and façades in New York and became one of the most used typefaces of the 2000s, not least in Barack Obama's election campaign of 2008.
