Holmegaard
Danish glassworks on Zealand, known for art glass by Jacob E. Bang and Per Lütken and for Michael Bang’s coloured glass in the 1960s and 70s.
Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe founded the glassworks on Holmegaard bog on Zealand, where the peat was used as fuel. The works first made bottles and everyday glass and then tableware.
Jacob E. Bange and Per Lütken gave Holmegaard a style of its own after the Second World War, with soft, organic forms. Lütken's Provence bowl of 1955 and Otto Brauer's floor vase of the 1960s became classics. The works is now part of Rosendahl Design Group.
Engraved signature Holmegaard, often with Per Lütken’s initials PL and the year.
