J/Boats

American sailing-boat builder founded by the Johnstone brothers to build the J/24.

Rod Johnstone built the first J/24 in his garage in Connecticut. With his brother Bob he founded J/Boats to produce it.

The J/24 became the world’s most widespread racing keelboat, and the company has since made a long line of boats bearing the same letter. The boats are built under licence in several countries.

The letter J and the boat’s length in feet on the sail.

Low, simple cabins and flat decks.
