Maison Jansen

Paris decorating firm that furnished palaces and homes for royalty and wealthy clients on several continents.

Jean-Henri Jansen was a Dutch furniture dealer who opened the firm in Paris. It became one of the largest interior-decorating firms in the world, with its own workshops for furniture, textiles and metalwork.

Under Stéphane Boudin, Jansen decorated palaces and residences, among them the White House under Jacqueline Kennedy. The firm often worked in historical styles and also made modern furniture in brass and glass. It closed at the end of the 1980s.

Jansen stamp or label on furniture; historical styles of high quality.
