Kapla
French maker of pine blocks, all of the same size, which are used to build without glue or fixings.
The Dutchman Tom van der Bruggen wanted to build a miniature castle and found that thin blocks in the proportion 1:3:15 could form almost any structure. He started Kapla in France in 1987.
The blocks are made of French pine and used in nurseries and schools. The name comes from the Dutch kabouterplankjes, gnome planks.
Flat pine blocks, all the same size and with no marking on the block itself.
Boxes of wood or cardboard with the Kapla name.
