KPM Berlin
The Berlin porcelain factory, founded by Frederick the Great and known for neoclassical porcelain and modern design such as Urbino.
Frederick the Great bought a private porcelain factory in Berlin in 1763 and named it the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur. It made services for the royal household, among them the Kurland service of 1790, and famous painted landscapes and views.
In the 1930s Trude Petri designed the Urbino service and Marguerite Friedlaender vases in a clean style. The factory was destroyed in the Second World War but rebuilt and has been privately owned since 2006.
