La Marzocco

Florentine maker of espresso machines for cafés, known for dual-boiler machines.

Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi founded La Marzocco in Florence, naming it after the lion that is the city's symbol. They made espresso machines for cafés and were early in developing a machine with a horizontal boiler.

The GS of 1970 had separate boilers for coffee and steam, which made the temperature more stable. La Marzocco became a favourite of speciality cafés and still manufactures in Scarperia outside Florence.
