Lanvin

Jeanne Lanvin’s fashion house in Paris, the oldest still in existence; the perfume Arpège in the black sphere.

Jeanne Lanvin opened a millinery in Paris and began sewing clothes for her daughter, which aroused the interest of other mothers. She built up a fashion house dressing both children and adults, and mother and daughter became the house's emblem.

Lanvin was known for robe de style dresses and for a blue of her own. The perfume Arpège came in 1927. The house has changed owners several times and has had creative directors such as Alber Elbaz.
