Linn

Ivor Tiefenbrun’s company in Glasgow; the LP12 turntable and later digital players.

Ivor Tiefenbrun founded Linn Products in Glasgow and began making the Sondek LP12 turntable in 1973. It had a suspended sub-chassis and a heavy platter and became a reference for hi-fi enthusiasts.

Linn later developed amplifiers, loudspeakers and early systems for digital music files. The Sondek LP12 is still made in Scotland and can be upgraded with new parts.
