Minolta
Japanese camera maker from Osaka, known for the first single-lens reflex with autofocus in the body.
Minolta was founded in Osaka and made cameras for amateurs and professionals alike. In the 1970s it worked with Leica on rangefinder cameras.
The Minolta 7000 of 1985 had autofocus driven by a motor in the body and lenses built for it, which changed the whole industry. Minolta merged with Konica and left the camera market in 2006, when Sony took over the system.
