Naef
Swiss maker of wooden toys and blocks, known for the Naef-Spiel.
Kurt Naef was a joiner and interior designer in Zeiningen near Basel and began making toys of wood. He wanted the toys to be artistic and at the same time give children freedom to build.
The Naef-Spiel of 1956 consists of cubes with cut faces that form new shapes. Naef has since worked with artists and designers and still manufactures in Switzerland.
Maple with lacquered colours and the Naef stamp.
Boxes with Naef and the designer's name.
