Omega

Founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds; the name comes from a movement of 1894. Known for the Speedmaster, Seamaster and Constellation and for timing the Olympic Games.

Louis Brandt started as a watchmaker in La Chaux-de-Fonds and his sons moved to Biel, where they made the movements in their own factory. The Omega movement of 1894 gave the company its name.

Omega was early with timekeeping at the Olympic Games and made the Seamaster, the Constellation and the Speedmaster. The Speedmaster became the first watch on the Moon in 1969. Omega is part of the Swatch Group.

The serial number on the movement can be dated; the reference number is inside the caseback.
