Piaget
Swiss watchmaker and jeweller in La Côte-aux-Fées, known for very thin movements and jewellery watches.
Georges Édouard Piaget started a workshop for movements in La Côte-aux-Fées in the Jura mountains and supplied other brands. From the 1940s the family sold watches under its own name.
The calibre 9P of 1957 was one of the thinnest mechanical movements, and Piaget combined thin movements with gold and stones in jewellery watches. The Polo of 1979 with its integrated bracelet became a symbol of the 1980s. Piaget is part of Richemont.
Very thin cases and dials of hardstone such as lapis lazuli and malachite.
The Piaget signature and reference number on the caseback.
