Push Pin Studios
New York studio founded by Milton Glaser and Seymour Chwast among others, with colourful, illustrative posters and covers.
Milton Glaser, Seymour Chwast, Reynold Ruffins and Edward Sorel started Push Pin Studios in New York after their studies. They published a newsletter, the Push Pin Graphic, in which they showed their illustration and typography.
The studio mixed Victorian ornament, Art Nouveau and pop and was a counterweight to the austere Swiss style. Milton Glaser's poster for Bob Dylan of 1966 became one of the best known of its time.
The Push Pin name in the credit or signature; historical styles mixed with pop.
