Willi Studer founded his company in Zurich and made professional tape recorders under the name Studer and tape recorders for the home under the name Revox. Studer machines were used in radio studios and record production.
The Revox A77 of 1967 became one of the best-selling reel-to-reel recorders for the home and was also used in studios. The company still makes audio equipment in Germany and Switzerland.
