Yves Saint Laurent
Fashion house that gave women the Le Smoking tuxedo (1966) and opened the Rive Gauche ready-to-wear boutique the same year.
Yves Saint Laurent led Dior after Christian Dior's death and started his own house in 1961 together with Pierre Bergé. His Mondrian dress of 1965 translated art into clothing.
Le Smoking of 1966 gave women a tuxedo, and the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche boutique made ready-to-wear part of luxury fashion. The house is part of Kering, and his work is shown in museums in Paris and Marrakech.
