Schiaparelli
Elsa Schiaparelli's fashion house in Paris, known for surrealist garments, the colour shocking pink and collaborations with artists.
Elsa Schiaparelli came from Rome and began in Paris with knitted sweaters with trompe-l’œil patterns. She worked with Salvador Dalí on the lobster dress and the hat that looked like a shoe, and with Jean Cocteau.
Her pink, shocking pink, and the perfume Shocking of 1937 became famous. The house closed in 1954 and was revived much later, and Daniel Roseberry has led it since 2019.
