Schott

Glassworks in Jena, founded by the chemist Otto Schott, known for heat-resistant glass and Wilhelm Wagenfeld's Jenaer Glas.

Otto Schott founded the Glastechnisches Laboratorium Schott & Genossen in Jena with Ernst Abbe and Carl and Roderich Zeiss. The laboratory developed optical glass and heat-resistant borosilicate glass.

In the 1930s Wilhelm Wagenfeld designed a teapot and kitchenware in heat-resistant glass for Jenaer Glas. After the Second World War the company moved to Mainz, and it is owned by the Carl Zeiss Foundation.

Jenaer Glas stamped or etched into the glass.
