Trek

Founded in a barn in Wisconsin; hand-built steel frames and later one of the big makers of carbon-fibre bicycles.

Dick Burke and Bevil Hogg started Trek in a barn in Waterloo, Wisconsin, and welded frames by hand. The company became one of America's largest bicycle makers.

Trek was early in developing frames in carbon fibre and aluminium and makes bicycles for road, off-road and town. The company is still in Waterloo.
