Tudor

Hans Wilsdorf’s second brand, with Rolex cases and bought-in movements at a lower price. Known for its Submariner divers and later the Black Bay.

Hans Wilsdorf wanted to give dealers a watch of the same quality as a Rolex at a lower price, and he registered the name Tudor. The watches used Rolex cases and bracelets and bought-in movements.

The Tudor Submariner was supplied to several navies, among them the French. The Black Bay of 2012 revived the old diving watches, and Tudor now makes its own movements.

The rose (older) or the shield on the dial; an Oyster case with Rolex markings on older watches.
