Victorinox

Karl Elsener’s cutlery workshop in Ibach that made the Swiss Army’s pocket knife; the name combines his mother’s name Victoria and inox, stainless.

Karl Elsener was a cutler who started his workshop in Ibach in Schwyz to make pocketknives for the Swiss army. The officer's knife of 1897 with several tools became the basis of the Swiss Army knife.
