Zenith

Watch brand in Le Locle, known for the El Primero, one of the first automatic chronograph movements.

Georges Favre-Jacot founded his watch factory in Le Locle and brought all parts of production under one roof. The name Zenith came from a movement.

The El Primero of 1969 was a high-frequency automatic chronograph. During the quartz crisis an employee, Charles Vermot, hid the plans and tools so that production could be resumed. Zenith is part of LVMH.
