Zwilling J. A. Henckels
Knife maker in Solingen; the twins were registered in 1731 and are among the world’s oldest trademarks.
Peter Henckels registered the twin mark with the cutlers' guild in Solingen in 1731. Johann Abraham Henckels built up the company and opened branches in Berlin and then in other countries.
Steel chef's knives became Zwilling's core, and Vier Sterne of 1976 became a classic. Zwilling also owns Staub and other kitchen brands.
The twin figures stamped on the blade; their number and appearance have changed over the years.
