Russian artist who painted the first matryoshka and worked in the neo-Russian style.

Sergey Malyutin worked at the artists’ colonies of Abramtsevo and Talashkino, which revived Russian folk art.

He drew the design for the first matryoshka, turned by Vasily Zvyozdochkin around 1890.
