Philippe Wolfers
Jeweller and sculptor
Belgian jeweller who made Art Nouveau jewels of Congo ivory, enamel and semi-precious stones.
Philippe Wolfers worked in his family’s silver firm in Brussels and from the 1890s made unique jewels and sculptures.
His jewels with bats, orchids and swans are among the most imaginative of Art Nouveau; the Wolfers Frères shop was built by Horta.
