Bentley 4½ Litre Blower

A British sports car with a supercharger in front of the radiator, built for racing at Le Mans.
The driver Tim Birkin wanted to make the Bentley faster with a supercharger, although the founder W. O. Bentley was against it. The car was very fast but unreliable and became a symbol of the Bentley Boys, wealthy amateur drivers of the 1920s.
Materials: Steel chassis, fabric and aluminium in the body; supercharged four-cylinder engine
Manufacture: Made in London; the supercharger was designed by Amherst Villiers.
