Hvitträsk

A studio home in the forest outside Helsinki, with log walls, tiled stoves and ryijy rugs.
Hvitträsk was built by Gesellius, Lindgren and Saarinen as a shared home and studio. It is a key work of Finnish National Romanticism and is now a museum.
Materials: Logs, natural stone, tiles, textiles, ironwork
Manufacture: The house and everything in it was designed by the architects themselves and made by Finnish craftsmen.
The mix of rustic logs and refined furniture.
The large tiled stove and the ryijy rugs giving the rooms warmth and colour.
