Weaving by Karin Larsson
Bright geometric weavings from Sundborn that were far ahead of their time.
Karin Larsson trained as a painter but devoted herself to textiles and interiors at home in Sundborn. Her weavings and clothes appear in Carl Larsson’s paintings and influenced Swedish handicraft. They are at Carl Larsson-gården and the Nationalmuseum.
Materials: Wool and linen, often vegetable-dyed
Manufacture: Woven at Lilla Hyttnäs by Karin Larsson and her weavers in folk techniques such as rölakan and dukagång.
