Cut crystal scent bottle
The scent bottle of cut crystal from the glassworks of the Biedermeier period.
When crystal glass improved in the 19th century, cutters could make bottles that sparkled like gemstones. Bohemian and French glassworks such as Baccarat made scent bottles for the dressing table.
The bottles were sold empty and filled by the owner. They show the Biedermeier love of the homely and the precious.
