A Nordic landscape in pale blue and grey, painted under the glaze after Japanese models.
Krog and his painters won the Grand Prix at the Paris Exposition of 1889 with the new underglaze painting. It made Royal Copenhagen world-famous. Examples are in Designmuseum Danmark and the Musée d’Orsay.
Materials: Porcelain with underglaze painting
Manufacture: Painted in mixed underglaze colours on the unfired porcelain and fired at high temperature.
The misty, soft tones without sharp outlines.
