Mora clock
The longcase clock from Dalarna with the curving body.
In Mora parish in Dalarna clock movements were made from the eighteenth century. It was a sideline for farming families, and the clocks were sold all over Sweden.
The cases were made by joiners where the clock was sold, so the forms vary a great deal. This means that the case and the movement are sometimes from different periods.
Materials: Pine, painted; movement of iron and brass

The shape of the case with a waist and broad base, sometimes called a woman's figure.
