Snake bracelet for Sarah Bernhardt
A bracelet and a ring joined by chains, shaped as a snake coiling round the arm.
Mucha designed the bracelet for the actress Sarah Bernhardt, who was playing Cleopatra. The collaboration led Mucha to design Fouquet’s shop too, now in the Musée Carnavalet in Paris. The bracelet is in a private collection and has been shown at the Carnavalet.
Materials: Gold, enamel, opals, diamonds, rubies
Manufacture: Designed by Alphonse Mucha and made by the jeweller Georges Fouquet; the snake’s scales in enamel.
