Oliver Peoples O’Malley

The round acetate frame that brought back 1950s glasses in Los Angeles in the 1980s.

The optician Larry Leight bought a stock of unused American frames from the 1920s to the 1950s and opened a shop in Los Angeles in 1986. He began making new frames in the same spirit, manufactured with great care in Japan.

The O’Malley became one of the brand’s classics and showed that glasses could be discreet luxury. Oliver Peoples became the model for a new wave of retro-style eyewear.
