A watch for scientists and engineers, protected against magnetic fields by an inner case of soft iron.

The Milgauss was made for people who worked near strong magnetic fields, in power stations, laboratories and hospitals. It withstood a field of a thousand gauss, hence the name. The CERN laboratory used the watches.

Materials: Stainless steel, soft iron; self-winding movement

Manufacture: Made in Geneva; the movement sits in a shield that deflects magnetic fields.

The seconds hand shaped like a lightning bolt.

The name Milgauss, after a thousand gauss, on the dial.
