The garden at Schönbrunn was laid out as a Baroque garden at the end of the 17th century and remodelled under Maria Theresa in the 18th century. The axis leads from the palace to the Neptune Fountain and the Gloriette.
The park was opened to the public in the 18th century and contains one of the world’s oldest zoos, built in 1752. It is one of Vienna’s most visited places.
